Upper Back/Shoulder Pain

Upper Back/Shoulder Pain

The 2 Common Types:

  1. Rib Syndrome - stabbing pain between shoulder blades.  Very painful and very common type of upper back pain.
  2. Impingement - forward roll of the shoulder causes pinching of the Rotator Cuff.  Deep ache in the shoulder

When is it serious?  - Rib syndrome feels serious because of the intense pain, however it is usually self limiting.  Impingement can be serious if  it leads to a torn rotator cuff.

Pain Point Release Tutorial - (Upper Back/Shoulder)

This area may require help by a partner, if it is too difficult to reach behind to your upper back by yourself with the Trigger Point Tool.   Though it should be easy to perform self-care in the neck muscles and pectoralis muscles, which also contribute to tensions in the upper back.  If you have not watched the Trigger Point Tool Introduction, please do so for basic use, strategy, and precautions.
