Post Surgical Scar Release

Post Surgical Scar Release

The 2 Common Types:

  1. Inter-layer adhesions - all the layers that are cut in surgery  are prone to restrictive adhesions.  Also, fascial densities can form from any post surgical immobilization.
  2. Skin and superficial fascia - this is the incision site and should be worked with Soft Tissue release as soon as the incision site is not vulnerable to infection.

The key to post surgical recovery  - normal rehab works on the "gross" range of motion in joints, but often soft tissue movement between planes of tissue is overlooked.  Outcomes become highly successful when BOTH traditional rehab and Soft Tissue release are utilized.
